Women’s soccer travels to Limestone

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team will travel to Limestone Wednesday evening for their first road game of the season. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Saints Field.

• Wednesday will mark the eighth time the teams have met in program history, as the Bearcats own a 5-3 record against the Saints. The squads last met in 2008 as Lander earned the 1-0 victory.

• Saturday night the Bearcats suffered its first loss of the season to Wingate 2-0. The result snapped a 10-match undefeated streak at Van Taylor Stadium that dated back to the beginning of the 2018 season.

• Limestone earned a 2-0 win over Chowan on Saturday.

• Limestone was picked first in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll after winning the conference title with an 11-0 conference record in 2018. Last season, the Saints compiled a 17-3 record overall.

• Limestone returns four of its starters from last season, one of which was senior forward Danielle Murray a first-team All-Conference Carolinas selection in 2018.
