Women's basketball at PBC leader North Georgia Wednesday

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Lander women's basketball team (13-4, 8-3 PBC) faces one of its toughest tests of the season on Wednesday night as the Bearcats travel to North Georgia (14-2, 9-1 PBC) to battle the first-place Nighthawks at 5:30 p.m.

• Wednesday's game will feature the league's top two defenses, as the Nighthawks and Bearcats are allowing just 60.2 and 62.8 points per game this season.  

• Lander leads the league with 13.9 steals per game, while North Georgia is commiting a conference-low 16.5 turnovers per game. 

• The Bearcats rank fifth in the nation in steals per game and eighth in turnovers forced. 

• Junior Chelsea Mitchell stuffed the stat sheet on Saturday against USC Aiken, scoring 25 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, swiping six steals and dishing five assists. 

• Lander attempted a season-high 28 three-pointers in the loss to USC Aiken. 

• Senior Breshay Johnson needs 79 points to surpass Shannon McKever as Lander's all-time leading scorer. 

• Lander is searching for its first win at North Georgia since Jan. 15, 2011.
