No. 25 Bearcats prepare to take on Clayton State

MORROW, Ga. – The No. 25-ranked Lander women's basketball team (12-3, 7-2 PBC) wraps up a three-game Peach Belt Conference road stretch on Monday afternoon as the Bearcats take on Clayton State (7-7, 4-4 PBC) at 1:30 p.m.

• Monday's game matches the league's most aggressive defenses against one another. Clayton State leads the league in steals per game (8.2) and turnovers forced per game (25.6), while Lander is second in both categories (7.1 steals, 24.2 turnovers). 

• Lander and Clayton State have the four league leaders in steals this season. The Lakers' Tatiana Foster leads the conference with 48 steals, while Chelsea Mitchell, Jessica Harris and Christal Williams are second, third and fourth in the league, respectively. 

• The Bearcats are looking to avoid their first consecutive losses of the season. 

• Lander was held to just 55 points in a loss to Georgia College on Saturday, the fewest points for a Bearcat team since Jan. 20, 2014. 

• The Bearcats lead the PBC at the free-throw line, shooting 75.6 percent. 

• Clayton State is holding opponents to just 25.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc, the lowest average in the conference. 

• Lander defeated Clayton State 93-59 in Greenwood on Dec. 19.
