BANNER ELK, N.C. - Aarika Judge and Ty'hesha Reynolds scored 23 and 21 points respectively Saturday afternoon to lead the Lander women's basketball team to its seventh straight victory, an 85-48 non-conference win over Lees-McRae College at Williams Gymnasium.
The Lady Bearcats improve to 7-2 overall, while Lees-McRae sinks to 3-6.
Judge connected on 9-of-16 floor shots, including 5-of-11 threes, and totaled five steals. Reynolds was 9-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-4 from the three-point line, and added four steals and four assists. Cierra Kendrick chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds, and Breshay Johnson had nine points and six rebounds.
Mackenzi Blankenship led Lees-McRae with 15 points and Kerri Belcher had a team-high seven rebounds.
Lander, which led 37-21 at halftime, was 35-of-76 from the field (46.1 percent), including 8-of-24 from the three-point line (33.3 percent), and 7-of-14 from the foul line (50 percent). The Lady Bearcats also won the rebound battle, 41-38.
LMC connected on 19-of-50 from the field (38 percent), 6-of-15 from beyond the arc (40 percent), and 4-of-8 from the free throw line (50 percent).
The Lady Bearcats will next host Fayetteville State at 5:30 p.m., Monday, in a non-conference game in Horne Arena.
