
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The fifth-seeded Lander softball team (31-17, 11-9 PBC) begins its quest for the Peach Belt Conference tournament championship on Friday night, as the Bearcats face fourth-seeded Young Harris (32-17, 13-7) in the quarterfinals of the PBC tournament at 6:30 p.m., at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium.

STORYLINES
• Lander is participating in its 18th Peach Belt Conference tournament. The Bearcats own a 22-31 all-time record in the tournament.
• The Bearcats have notched their first 30-win season since 2005.
• Lander is meeting Young Harris in the PBC tournament for the second time. The Mountain Lions defeated Lander 9-2 in the quarterfinals in 2016.
• Senior Casey Wooten has set the single-season and career steal records for Lander. Wooten has 32 steals for the Bearcats this year and 81 in her career.
