No. 21 Lander earns fourth-place finish at St. Leo Invitational

LAKE JOVITA, Fla. – The No. 21-ranked Lander men's golf team posted a 290 on Tuesday to earn its fourth top-five finish of the year at the St. Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.

The Bearcats, who sat in sixth entering Tuesday, used their 2-over final round to jump to fourth on the leaderboard. Nova Southeastern took home the team title, finishing with a 19-under 845 at the par-72, 7,153-yard layout. Lee finished second with an 853 and Saint Leo claimed third with an 859 total.

In six starts this season, Lander now has four top-five finishes and a runner-up finish to its credit.

Nova Southeastern's Juan Jose Guerra carded a 69 during his third round to claim medalist honors at 15-under 201.  

A pair of Bearcats finished in the top-20, as Conor Richards finished third with a 10-under 206. Michael Brodie finished tied for 18th with a 2-over 218. 

Jon Parker tied for 24th, James Bartlett tied for 35th and Garrett Atkinson finished 68th. 

The Bearcats will be back in action on March 11 when they begin play at the Southeast Invitational.
