LAKE JOVITA, Fla. – The No. 21-ranked Lander men's golf team posted a 290 on Tuesday to earn its fourth top-five finish of the year at the St. Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
The Bearcats, who sat in sixth entering Tuesday, used their 2-over final round to jump to fourth on the leaderboard. Nova Southeastern took home the team title, finishing with a 19-under 845 at the par-72, 7,153-yard layout. Lee finished second with an 853 and Saint Leo claimed third with an 859 total.
In six starts this season, Lander now has four top-five finishes and a runner-up finish to its credit.
Nova Southeastern's Juan Jose Guerra carded a 69 during his third round to claim medalist honors at 15-under 201.
The Bearcats will be back in action on March 11 when they begin play at the Southeast Invitational.
