No. 21 Bearcats tied for sixth after two rounds at St. Leo Invitational

LAKE JOVITA, Fla. – The No. 21-ranked Lander men's golf team posted rounds of 294 and 287 during the first day of play at the St. Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.

The Bearcats enter the final round tied for sixth with Georgia College, which matched Lander's 5-over total at the par-72, 7,153-yard layout. Nova Southeastern finished the day with a commanding 12-stroke lead after posting a total of 23-under through the first two rounds. 

The event will conclude with Tuesday with the final 18 holes.

Nova Southeastern's Juan Jose Guerra holds a four-stroke lead over Lander's Conor Richards on the individual leaderboard entering the final day of the event. 

Richards was the lone Bearcat to break par in the first round, firing a 5-under 66. The sophomore followed with a 2-under, while Michael Brodie posted a 2-under 69 to help lead the Bearcats to a total 1-under 287 in the second round. 

Brodie enters the final round tied for 17th with a 144 total. Jon Parker sits tied for 34th with a 149, James Bartlett is 45th with a 152 and Garrett Atkinson is 59th with a total of 157. 

The Bearcats will get their final round underway tomorrow at 8:40 (EST) and will be grouped with Carson-Newman and Valdosta State. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
