Bearcats fall to Barry in final game at USC Aiken Tournament

AIKEN, S.C. – The Lander volleyball team wrapped up USC Aiken Opening Weekend Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Barry Saturday morning at the Convocation Center. The Bucs defeated the Bearcats 25-17, 25-18, 25-18. 

Freshman Kaitlyn Krafka led Lander (1-1) with nine kills while junior Hannah McManus added 11 digs. Freshman Madilyn Reed finished with 25 assists to lead the Bearcats. Lander committed 23 attack errors in the match, as the Bearcats were limited to a .073 hitting percentage. Junior Reilly Kuenstler posted six kills and 2.0 blocks, while freshman Sadie Davis recorded a pair of service aces. 

Barry (3-0) was led by 11 kills from Tierney Ward, the lone player in the match with double-figure kills, and 33 assists from Bianca Pasca. The Bucs hit .263 in the win. 

Lander concludes its weekend with a 12:00 p.m. match against Mount Olive on Sunday in Augusta, Ga.
