GREENWOOD — After leading the Lander women's basketball team to a pair of PBC wins last week, Jessica Harris has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
It marks the third time this season the junior has been named the PBC Player of the Week, as she previously took home the honor on Dec. 20 and Jan. 21. It is the fourth PBC weekly honor this season for the Bearcats.
Harris averaged 20.5 points per game with 12 rebonds and 12 assists as the Bearcats picked up a pair of key wins. On Wednesday, the Sumter, S.C., native scored 21 points to lead Lander to a 77-55 win over UNC Pembroke. She went 8-of-8 from the free-throw line while recording six rebounds and five steals.
Later in the week, Harris posted 20 points in the Bearcats' 85-61 win over Flagler. She hit all four of her three-point attempts and dished out nine assists. She now boasts a total of 11 20-point games on the season.
Harris and the Bearcats travel to Florence, S.C., to face Francis Marion on Wednesday.
