Lander hosts Young Harris for Military Appreciation Day Saturday

GREENWOOD – The Lander softball team (27-17, 7-9 PBC) opens its final home stretch of the season on Saturday as the Bearcats face Young Harris (32-15, 13-5 PBC) at 3:00 and 5:00 at Doug Spears Field.

STORYLINES

• Lander enters Saturday on a six-game winning streak.  

• The Bearcats own a 15-9 record at Doug Spears Field this season. 

• Lander has posted shutouts in three of its last four games. 

• The Bearcats are 8-2 in their last 10 outings.

• Lander will be hosting Military Appreciation Day on Saturday. The Bearcats will permanently reserve a front-row parking spot for U.S. service members wounded in combat by painting a parking spot purple with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:45 p.m. Additionally, HG Crawford, recipient of two Purple Hearts and father of Lander head coach Glen Crawford, will throw out the first pitch before game one.
