Lander faces Queens in home doubleheader Wednesday afternoon

GREENWOOD – The Lander softball team (9-1) faces its toughest test of the young season as the Bearcats host Queens (11-2) at 1:00 and 3:00 at Doug Spears Field.

STORYLINES

• Lander went 3-1 last weekend, sweeping Lees-McRae and splitting with Claflin. 

• Six Bearcats are batting over .300 this season, led by Casey Wooten's .452 average. 

• Senior McKenzi Ferguson has struck out 52 batters while walking just five on the year. 

• The Bearcats have either split or swept each of their last 10 home doubleheaders dating back to last season. 

• Lander leads the Peach Belt Conference with 20 stolen bases this year. 

• The Bearcats are in the midst of a 12-game home stretch.
