Cross country competes at Jaguar Invitational Saturday morning

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. – The Lander men's and women's cross country teams compete in their second event of the season on Saturday morning at the Jaguar Cross Country Invitational in Beech Island, S.C. at the Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site. The event was originally scheduled for last Saturday, but was pushed back due to Hurricane Florence. 

STORYLINES:

• The mens race, an 8K, will begin at 8:10 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 8:50 a.m.

• The Lander men will be competing against Augusta, Albany State, Clayton State, Francis Marion, Georgia College, Paine, and USC Beaufort.

• The women's field will feature Lander, Augusta, Albany State, Clayton State, Francis Marion, Georgia College, Georgia Southwestern, North Georgia, Paine, and Wesleyan.

• The men's team finished fourth at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg. 

• Catey Rithianos clocked the top time for the women's team at the Eye Opener Invitational.
