Lander prepares for first men's cross country PBC Championship since 1999

Fort Benning, Ga. – The Lander men's cross country team will return to action on Saturday at 10:15 A.M. in the team's conference finale at the Peach Belt Conference Championship. The race will be hosted by Columbus State on Stewart Field at the U.S. army base Fort Benning.

STORYLINES:

• Saturday's race marks the first conference championship competition for Lander since 1999. 

• The race will be contested on an 8K course. The Bearcats have competed in three 8K races this season.

• Flagler won the 2016 PBC Championship after placing four runners in the race's top 15 finishers.

• The Stewart Field course is comprised of a one-mile gravel track loop that has been expanded for purposes of Saturday's race.

• Freshman Evin Fortenberry has led the Bearcats in two of the team's four races. Senior Dylan Scott and freshman Jeron Brown headlined the Bearcats in the other two contests.
