No. 8 Lander bounces back with rout of Georgia Southwestern

GREENWOOD – The No. 8-ranked Lander men's tennis team responded from a home loss on Friday with a 9-0 blanking of Georgia Southwestern at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center on Saturday afternooon. 

Lander (6-2, 1-1 PBC) managed to not drop a set, despite playing with a shuffled lineup against the Hurricanes (2-5, 0-2 PBC). 

The Bearcats' swiped all three doubles points, led by an 8-3 winning effort from Eirik Groner and Ozan Cildir, neither of whom played singles, at the No. 2 spot.

Three Bearcats picked up their first singles wins of the season, including Fergus O'Rourke, who earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles in the first match of his Lander career. 

Lander will travel to Florence on March 2 to take on Francis Marion.
