GREENWOOD  The Lander men's tennis team, which is ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division II, remained unbeaten in Peach Belt Conference play Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats downed Francis Marion, 7-2, at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the PBC, while FMU drops to 4-4, (0-3).

In singles, No. 1 Jules Vauthier (LU) def. Jannik Roettlingsberger (FMU) 6-2, 6-4; No. 2 Richard Ashforth (FMU) def. David Korsten (LU) 7-6, 5-7, 10-5; No. 3 Eirik Groner (LU) def. Harry Wells (FMU) 6-2, 6-1; No. 4 Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Tarass Thevenaz (FMU) 6-1, 6-7, 11-9; No. 5 Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Raul Madrid (FMU) 7-6, 6-4; and No. 6 Omar El-Moslemany (LU) def. Henri Broeseler(FMU) 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles, No. 1 Marc Hofer/El-Moslemany (LU) def. Ashforth/Thevenaz (FMU) 8-4; No. 2 Roettlingsberger/Madrid (FMU) def. Groner/Korsten 9-7; No. 3 Vauthier/Cildir (LU) def. Wells/Matheo Espinoza (FMU) 8-4.

The Bearcats will next play non-conference opponent Auburn-Montgomery at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4.
