Academic honors awarded to Jordan Skelton, Sam Lofts

GREENWOOD – The Lander men's soccer team earned two more accolades on Friday as two Bearcats were honored for their efforts on the field and in the classroom. Junior defender Jordan Skelton and senior forward Sam Lofts were both named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-South Region Team, while Skelton was also tabbed as an Men's Scholar All-American. 

Skelton, a business major from Newcastle, England, is a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American and a D2CCA Third-Team All-American. The Bearcat captain tallied 19 points on eight goals and three assists for Lander while maintaining a 3.59 grade point average.

Lofts, an exercise science major from Swindon, England, led the Bearcats with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. The forward was a Second Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection and sported a 3.40 grade point average during the season.
