Brittain, Hughes named to preseason All-PBC team

GREENWOOD - The Lander men's soccer team placed two players on the preseason All-Peach Belt Conference team it was announced by the league office Tuesday. The preseason All-PBC team is voted on by the head coaches.

Representing the Bearcats, which won the 2009 PBC tournament title and advanced to their fifth consecutive NCAA regional tournament, are senior forward Aaron Brittain, Cleveland, England, and senior midfielder Craig Hughes, Sunderland, England.

Brittain, the 2008 PBC Player of the Year, could become only the fourth player in PBC history to be named all-conference four times. In 2009, he was third in the PBC with 12 goals.

Hughes, who scored two goals to go along with six assists last season, has earned All-PBC honors twice and also made the PBC all-tournament team last year.
