No. 19 men's golf finishes eighth at Bobcat Invitational

EATONTON, Ga. – The No. 19-ranked Lander men's golf team posted a closing 297 during the third round of the Bobcat Invitational on Tuesday to finish alone in eighth place at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee. 

The Bearcats' 17-over round gave them a 33-over total of 873, one shot ahead of Rollins and four shots in front of Saint Leo. USC Aiken posted a 289 during its final round to hold off West Florida by two shots and win the tournament with a 6-over total of 846. Barry finished third with an 851 tally at the par-70, 6,730-yard layout.

Jon Parker logged his second career top-five finish, tying for fifth place at 209 after shooting a tournament-low 65 on Monday.

Conor Richards fired a 74 to end the event tied for 33rd. James Bartlett's 221 put him in a tie for 39th, while Michael Brodie and Garrett Atkinson each finished in a tie for 61st. 

The Bearcats will be back in action on March 26 when they begin play at the Bearcat Classic at the Greenwood Country Club.
