Lander golfers finish 7th at Pirate Invitational

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Lander golf team shot a final round 299 and rallied to finish seventh of 11 teams Tuesday at the three-round AASU Pirate Invitational hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University at the the par-70 Savannah Quarters Golf Club.

Lander, which shot rounds of 306 and 322 on Monday, improved two places from its ninth place standing.

Flagler, led by individual champion Joel Dahlenburg's 211 (69-71-71), won the tournament with a low 876, followed by: 2. Armstrong Atlantic 880, 3. UNC Pembroke 902, 4. Mount Olive 909, 5. Georgia Southwestern 913, 6. Coker 920, 7. Lander 927, 8. Montevallo 930, 9. Wingate 931, 10. North Georgia 936, and 11. Clayton State 952.

Individually for Lander, Max Fischer tied for 13th with 225 (77-77-71), Roberto Nasalli-Rocca (79-83-71) and Wes Bowman (74-80-79) tied for 32nd at 233, Tyler Foxx tied for 51st at 239 (77-84-78), and Thad Wier tied for 55th at 241 (78-82-81).
