Tolbert repeats as PBC Player of the Week
GREENWOOD - Lander's Dwight Tolbert, a 6-5 senior wing on the Bearcat men's basketball team, was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week for games played Jan. 16-22 the league office announced Monday.
Tolbert, Tifton, Ga., averaged 27.5 points and six rebounds per game last week in PBC victories over North Georgia College & State University (93-89) and Columbus State (84-79), while shooting 57.5 percent from field
Against North Georgia, he sank 10-of-17 field goals, including 5-of-6 threes and added 5-of-6 foul shots for 30 points.
Against Columbus State, he was 9-of-16 from the field, including 5-of-11 threes, and also made 2-of-4 free throws for 25 points.
Tolbert, who also earned PBC Player of the Week honors on Dec. 5, is currently second in the PBC (16th nationally) in scoring (22 ppg.), field goals made (125), and three-point field goals made (46); and third in three-point field goal percentage (.447).
