Bearcats In The Pros: Jones, Lusignan highlight week

GREENWOOD  The professional baseball season is under way for four former Bearcats. Lander has three players in Class A and one in Class AA. 

Will Jones -- P, Staten Island Yankees (A-Short - New York Yankees)
Season: 2-0, 1.26 ERA, 8 G, 0 SV, 14.1 IP, 13 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 8 K
Jones made a pair of scoreless appearances for Staten Island last week, tossing 2.0 shutout innings in a win over Lowell last Sunday and 1.2 scoreless Sunday night in a loss to Hudson Valley. He has not allowed a run in his last 8.1 innings, the longest streak of his professional career. 

Colby Lusignan -- 1B, Jupiter Hammerheads (A-Advanced - Miami Marlins) 
Season: 95 G, 54 R, 94 H, 22 2B, 3 3B, 13 HR, 60 RBI, 3 SB, .259 AVG
Lusignan racked up 14 hits and 11 RBI in his last seven games, culminating in a two-home run, five-RBI performance, including a three-run walkoff homer, in Jupiter's win over Lakeland on Sunday. Since joining the Hammerheads, Lusignan is batting .339 and is tied for fourth on the team in home runs. 

Mason McCullough -- P, Jackson Generals (AA - Arizona Diamondbacks) 
Season: 3-0, 2.14 ERA, 39 G, 4 SV, 46.1 IP, 24 H, 11 R, 11 ER, 28 BB, 79 K
McCullough struck out three of the four batters he faced on Sunday in a loss to Tennessee, marking his fourth consecutive outing with a strikeout. Opponents are batting .125 against McCullough since his arrival in Jackson. 

Brandon White -- P, Florida Fire Frogs (A-Advanced - Atlanta Braves) 
Season: 2-0, 2.25 ERA, 29 G, 10 SV, 48.0 IP, 43 H, 17 R, 12 ER, 12 BB, 46 K
White held Jupiter scoreless for 2.0 innings on Wednesday in an extra-inning loss for Florida. In two outings in extra-inning contests for the Fire Frogs, White has surrendered just two hits and no runs in 5.0 innings.
