Bearcats In The Pros: 'Cats continue to shine in minors

GREENWOOD  The professional baseball season is under way for five former Bearcats. Lander has four players in Class A and one in Class AA. 

Zach Daly -- OF, Batavia Muckdogs (A-Short - Miami Marlins)
Season: 7 G, 4 R, 5 H, 1 2B, 1 3B, 0 HR, 2 RBI, 0 SB, .200 AVG 
Daly began the month of July with his fifth base hit of his season with Batavia, knocking a single against State College on Saturday. The former 37th-round pick is in the New York-Penn League for the first time in his professional career. 

Will Jones -- P, Staten Island Yankees (A-Short - New York Yankees)
Season: 0-0, 2.25 ERA, 2 G, 0 SV, 4.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
Jones was the first reliever out of the bullpen for Staten Island on Wednesday, surrendering one run in 2.0 innings to keep the Yankees within striking distance in an eventual win over Vermont. Dating back to last season, Jones has allowed either one or zero runs in four consecutive appearances. 

Colby Lusignan -- 1B, Greensboro Grasshoppers (A - Miami Marlins) 
Season: 71 G, 37 R, 65 H, 16 2B, 3 3B, 8 HR, 45 RBI, 1 SB, .240 AVG
Lusignan ended the month of June with a .423 slugging percentage and has hit safely in three of his last four games. The former Bearcat slugger has been at his best in crunch time, batting .600 in extra innings this season for Greensboro. 

Mason McCullough -- P, Jackson Generals (AA - Arizona Diamondbacks) 
Season: 2-0, 2.06 ERA, 27 G, 4 SV, 35.0 IP, 20 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 17 BB, 62 K
McCullough is currently on the 7-day disabled list. 

Brandon White -- P, Rome Braves (A - Atlanta Braves) 
Season: 2-0, 1.72 ERA, 23 G, 9 SV, 36.2 IP, 32 H, 12 R, 7 ER, 9 BB, 33 K
White tossed scoreless innings in wins over Charleston and Columbia, earning his ninth save of the season in the process. The record-setting Bearcat closer has not walked a batter since June 14, striking out eight during the same stretch.
