Brandon Duncan Softball Camp dates announced

GREENWOOD - The Brandon Duncan Softball Camps has announced four camp dates for this summer. (Registration Form) All camps will be held at Lander University's Doug Spears Field.

Session 1 (All Skills), for ages 7-12, will be held July 27-28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Session 2 (All Skills), for ages 13-18, will be held July 27-28 from 2-5 p.m.
Session 3 (Pitchers only), for ages 8-12, will be held July 29 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Session 4 (Pitchers only), for ages 13-18, will be held July 29 from 2-5 p.m.

Natalie Smith named to PBC All-Academic team

GREENWOOD - Lander softball player Natalie Smith, a senior outfielder from Hollywood, Fla., was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team which was announced by the league office Tuesday. The PBC All-Academic team is voted on by the league's sports information directors.

Smith, a mass communications major who was voted her team's Most Valuable Player this season, played in 45 games and batted .293 with 41 hits. She led the team in doubles with 11, belted two home runs, drove in 19 runs and scored 20 runs....[full story]

Lander stays alive in PBC tourney with win over Flagler

FLORENCE - Back-to-back RBI doubles by Marilyn Newman and Rachelle Adkins kept the Lander softball team's hopes for a Peach Belt Conference tournament championship alive Friday afternoon when the eighth-seeded Bearcats upset fifth-seeded Flagler College, 5-0, in the loser's bracket at the Freedom Florence Complex.
