GREENWOOD - Lander baseball player Bud Lanier, a senior outfielder from Rocky Point, N.C. was named to the preseason All-Peach Belt Conference baseball team it was announced today. Lanier, who earned All-PBC honors last season, was ranked in the PBC top 12 in batting average at .379, slugging percentage (.604) and home runs (10). He was also ranked third in the conference with a .992 fielding percentage. The preseason All-PBC team, which includes players from eight of the conference's 12 teams, is voted on by the league coaches. Joining Lanier on the team are: Armstrong Atlantic outfielder Alex Wyche; Columbus State outfielder Alex Montes; Francis Marion shortstop Barret Kleinknecht; Georgia College relief pitcher Martin Dewald; UNC Pembroke first baseman Seith Kivett and starting pitcher Matt McGovern; North Georgia second baseman Andre Airich, third baseman Jordan Erisman and catcher Daniel Pettiti; and USC Aiken designated hitter Travis Howard. |
