Men’s and women’s soccer to host first-round PBC games

Lady Bearcats host Flagler, men's team faces USC Aiken


GREENWOOD - The Lander men's and women's soccer teams will both play host to first-round Peach Belt Conference tournament games on Tuesday, Nov. 3, it was announced by the league office Sunday. After the first-round games at the higher seeds' home sites, the tournament will move to Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga. for the semifinal and championship rounds. (Video Stream | LiveStats)

Tuesday night has been designated "White Out" Night and fans attending the games are asked to wear white shirts. Fans will be eligible for games, prizes and giveaways.

The Lady Bearcats (10-3-2) earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will face sixth-seeded Flagler (8-7-1) at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2. During the season, the Lady Bearcats downed Flagler on their home field, 2-0, on Oct. 10.

In other first-round women's games, No. 7 UNC Pembroke (10-7-1) is at No. 2 Armstrong Atlantic (12-3-3), No. 8 Montevallo (6-8-3) travels to No. 1 Columbus State (14-1-3) and No. 5 North Georgia (10-4-2) goes to No. 4 Georgia College (9-5-5).

The second-seeded Lander men's team (10-5-1) will host No.7 USC Aiken (7-10-1) at 7 p.m. The Bearcats held off USC Aiken, 3-2, in their regular-season match at Lander on Oct. 15.

In other first-round men's games, No. 8 North Georgia (5-10-1) is at No. 1 Flagler (12-5-1), No. 6 UNC Pembroke (8-7-2) goes No. 3 Clayton State (10-5-1), and No. 5 Francis Marion (11-4-3) plays at No. 4 Montevallo (9-6-1).
