GREENWOOD - Melissa McCracken, an outside hitter on the Lander volleyball team, was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week for games played Oct. 19-24 the PBC office announced today (Monday). McCracken, a junior from Washington, Ill., averaged 4.5 kills and 4.05 digs per set last week in helping lead Lander to a 4-1 slate. She had 32 kills, the most in a single game in the PBC this season, against Lees-McRae to go along with 15 digs. She added 25 kills and 16 digs against Erskine and 19 kills and 30 digs against Anderson. During the week, she also had 11 blocks, four service aces and an assist. McCracken, who is the first back-to-back Player of the Week this season, ranks second in the PBC in kills and is 13th in hitting percentage. |
