Ferry named PBC volleyball Specialist of the Week

GREENWOOD - Ashley Ferry, a libero on the Lander volleyball team, was named the Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week for games played Oct. 19-24 it was announced by the league office today (Oct. 26).

Ferry, a 5-8 senior from Woodbridge Va., helped lead the Bearcats to a 4-1 week. She averaged 5.95 digs per set and topped the 30-dig mark twice. She had 38 in a four-set win over Erskine, the second-highest single-match total in the PBC this year. She also had 30 against Anderson and 26 against Lees-McRae. In addition, she recorded five service aces, nine kills and an assist.

On the season, Ferry leads the PBC in digs with 4.96 per set and owns four of the top five highest single-match dig totals in the league.
