Lander softball team spends day with Miracle League

GREENWOOD - The Lander softball team, under the direction of head coach Brandon Duncan, spent Saturday, Sept. 26 with the Burton Center's Miracle League volunteering has helpers. Each player was paired as a "buddy" with whom they accompanied in the outfield, the batter's box and around the bases.

"We were honored at the invitation to be a part of the Greenwood Miracle League," said Duncan. "To see these youngsters out there having a blast and playing a sport so many of us take for granted was worth every second we spent out there. Anyone who wants to witness pure joy on the face of a child should take a few minutes and come go to the Miracle League."

The day was capped by a great round of the Chicken Dance.
